I thought better of him (Mahar and the rest acted exactly as one would suspect). I thought he was way more educated than this crap. I first heard of the Armenian genocide (though not the politics surrounding it) in 1982 from an elderly co-worker at my university. I was utterly floored. If "numbers" is the only thing we look at when evaluating the sheer awfulness of murder, then 1.5 million men women and children certainly should make our hair stand on end. "They drove them out into the high desert," my co-worker told me, "And left them without water or food. They died there." And she began to cry. My friend was old enough at the time to have family who died. The callous ignorance! I thought I was an 19 year old history hotshot. I was thoroughly ashamed.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03918341506709200415noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1373152433565591514.post-72138240612215106632015-04-25T08:31:36.227-07:002015-04-25T08:31:36.227-07:00One also must remember that it was HALF of all Arm...One also must remember that it was HALF of all Armenians murdered, hence the Genocide part.
