London Mayor Boris Johnson Describes Brits Who Fight For ISIS as Onanists

Okay, first I invite you to get past the hair.

Second, Johnson should get an award for using the term "Onanist".

Third, Johnson actually said more than that. I'm quoting the Guardian because the more original sources at The Sun and The Independent won't let me read their stuff unless I take out a "subscription".

(Didn't we fight a war about that, or something, over two-hundred years ago?)

From The Guardian on January 30:
Boris Johnson has described men who go to fight with Islamic State as “literally wankers” who watch porn because they can’t meet women.
Citing a report from MI5 on the profile of jihadis, the mayor of London said: “If you look at all the psychological profiling about bombers, they typically will look at porn. They are literally wankers. Severe onanists.”
Johnson described British jihadis as “tortured” and “very badly adjusted in their relations with women”, something he said was a symptom of “their feeling of being a failure and that the world is against them”.
“They are not making it with girls and so they turn to other forms of spiritual comfort – which of course is no comfort.”
He continued: “They are just young men in desperate need of self-esteem who do not have a particular mission in life, who feel that they are losers and this thing makes them feel strong – like winners.”
Now, there are many, many things to say about this, as well as about the reactions of the various players--some of them referenced in the Guardian article. But the most telling is from a "moderate Muslim," Mussurut Zia, General Secretary for the Muslim Women's Network in Great Britain. She called Johnson's remarks "irresponsible" and "the definition of terrorism".

Our Jihadists are NOT porn-addicts
Note, Ms. Zia asserted that his remarks (made in the wake of the Charlie Hebdo terrorist attacks) are themselves "terrorism".

And also note, Johnson's actual claims were not made against Muslims in general or young male Muslims or even young male extremist Muslims, but British Muslims who join ISIS. Fighters for ISIS are the bad guys, people. If they are not the bad guys, no one is. They take pictures of their toddlers holding up a fistful of severed heads for fun.

But criticizing them (in albeit colorful terms) is "terrorism". This, from a "moderate" Muslim spokesperson.

The insanity currently unfolding in Europe knows no bounds.
