Thomas Evans Breaks Silence: "They paid £143k on murdering my son and taking our lives away from us!!!! We are not done!"

Yesterday, in a post on the Alfies Army Official Facebook group, Thomas Evans, the father of Alfie Evans, broke more than six weeks of silence on the death of his son.

This followed posts by Sarah Evans and Daniel Evans, the child's aunt and uncle, revealing the results of a recent Freedom of Information Act request that Britain's National Health Service had paid at least £143,000 in legal fees to keep Alfie Evans at Alder Hey hospital.

As far as I understand it, the parents of Alfie Evans had been effectively silent since Thomas Evans had made an accommodationist "statement" on April 26th, a few hours before Alfie Evans would pass away. This came after weeks of angry words against Alder Hey and the NHS from Thomas and Katie, as well other family members. Many felt that the apparent turnabout was due to some sort of deal with the hospital, perhaps made in return for a promise - a promise which would be tragically unfulfilled - that Alfie Evans would be allowed to be taken home.

In the statement at that time, partly addressed to the family's supporters, Thomas Evans said:

We would now ask you to return back to your everyday lives and allow myself, Katie and Alder Hey to form a relationship, build a bridge and walk across it. 

We also wish to thank Alder Hey staff at every level for their dignity and professionalism during what must be an incredibly difficult time for them too... 

From this point onwards there will be no more statements issued or interviews given.

But yesterday on Facebook he wrote:

We wanted everyone to know that in time as we grieve, we will be speaking out further to the build up to alfies death and we will be speaking out the truth and in detail about the week that we had to go through... 

[Alder Hey] paid £143k on murdering my son and taking our lives away from us!!!! 

We are not done!

Alfie Evans was murdered by the state, and abandoned by his Church.

An online mob, many members of whom would rather see an infant killed than be caught making a grammatical error on social media, bayed for his death.

But on this Father's Day, I can't imagine how he could have been graced with better parents than Tom and Kate.

Me and Kate will never come to terms with it and will never accept alfies death or cause of death! Pope Francis Weighs in on the Death Camps*

Today, Pope Francis was asked about the pending murders of millions of additional people in the many extermination camps operated by the Nazis across Central and Eastern Europe:

I entrust to your prayer the members of those peoples and nations, living, sometimes for a long period, in situations of restricted movement, involuntary captivity or other potentially fatal circumstances due to the requirements of the war. By these I chiefly mean the Jews, but also Gypsies, homosexuals, Polish professionals and others, and of course Catholics. These are delicate and complex situations. We pray that every group and race is always respected in its dignity and treated in a way adapted to its condition, with the agreement of the relevant parties including local authorities and political and military professionals.

A week earlier, the Pope had "tweeted" his support for those being transferred to Auschwitz-Birkenau and destined for its gas chambers:

It is my sincere hope that everything necessary may be done in order to continue compassionately accompanying the Jews and others on their difficult journey made necessary by the current situation, and that the deep suffering of those affected by these measures may be heard. I am praying for the Jews, as well as for Germany and all others that may be involved.

The banality of evil: Japanese mass murderer Satoshi Uematsu

Recently, much more information about Satoshi Uematsu, the Japanese mass casualty stabber, has emerged.

"He went in the dark of the night, opened one door at a time, and stabbed sleeping people one by one."

That explains why he was able to murder so many people. It wasn't that they were disabled. It was that they were asleep.

He turned himself in, leaving a bag of bloody knives in his car.

Apparently, Uematsu had earlier sent a letter to the Speaker of the Japanese Parliament, outlining an original plan for him to personally euthanize 470 disabled individuals.
He was hospitalized for two weeks and then released.

I"m not here going to make any moral condemnations of Japanese culture. If anything, Japan seem to be less enthusiastic about euthanasia than many "post-Christian" countries.

Obviously, Satoshi Uematsu was an exception.

To his neighbours, he was a polite young man with a ready smile and a desire to help. But, on Tuesday, Satoshi Uematsu was in police custody after allegedly carrying out the worst mass killing in Japan since the second world war. 

As residents in the Tsukui district of Sagamihara city struggled to comprehend the brutal slaying of 19 residents at a care home where Uematsu once worked, it was becoming apparent that his actions were driven by a deep-seated hatred of people with disabilities. 

As reporters descended on this quiet neighbourhood of grand wooden homes, persimmon orchards and allotments, Uematsu’s neighbours could barely believe reports that he had returned to the facility where he was employed until February this year and begun stabbing residents as they slept, in many cases slitting their throats. 

At about 2am, the 26-year-old is thought to have got into his car and driven the short distance from his home to the Tsukui Yamayuri En (Tsukui Lily Garden) facility, where he smashed a window with a hammer to gain entry. 

By the end of his rampage, nine men and 10 women aged 19-70 were dead and 25 others were injured, most of them seriously. Then, according to reports, he got back into his car and drove to the nearest police station to hand himself in. 

“I did it,” he was quoted as telling police officers at around 3am. “It is better that disabled people disappear,” he was said to have added. 

Inside his car, police found a bag containing knives and other sharp-edged tools. Witnesses who glimpsed inside the vehicle before it was impounded said the seats were covered in blood. 

As reports emerged of Uematsu’s desire to exterminate disabled people through euthanasia, his neighbour, Akihiro Hasegawa, said there was nothing in the suspect’s behaviour to foretell his capacity for unspeakable violence against some of the community’s most vulnerable people. 

“You’d probably expect me to say that he looked weird, or had done something bad, but he was just a friendly, polite guy who said hello whenever we saw each other in the street,” Hasegawa, 73, told the Guardian. “I am sure that everyone else in this neighbourhood would say the same.” 

Uematsu, he said, was immediately recognisable from his shock of dyed blond hair, and added that he had spotted his neighbour’s yakuza-style tattoo on his chest and upper arms. Despite the marking, Uematsu is not thought to belong to a crime syndicate. 

Authorities said he had been “involuntarily committed” to hospital on 19 February, after police in Tsukui, located 50km south-west of Tokyo, contacted him in response to a letter he had attempted to pass to the speaker of the lower house of Japan’s parliament. 

In the letter, Uematsu argued that the government should permit euthanasia for disabled people, said he would be willing to carry out such killings himself, and detailed how he would do it. 

“I envision a world where a person with multiple disabilities can be euthanised, with an agreement from the guardians, when it is difficult for the person to carry out household and social activities,” the letter said. 

Uematsu’s letter said he could “wipe out a total of 470 disabled individuals” by targeting two facilities for disabled people during the night shift, “when staffing is low”. 

“The act will be carried out speedily, and definitely without harming the staff. After wiping out the 260 people in two facilities, I will turn myself in.” 

He was released from hospital on 2 March after a doctor deemed his condition had improved, a Sagamihara town official said. While in hospital, Uematsu was diagnosed as suffering from paranoia as well as being dependent on cannabis, the official added. 

“I feel pain, as it’s said there was no problem, but that was the decision at that time,” said Eiji Yagi, a Sagamihara official in charge of the city’s mental health welfare section. 

The suspect apparently began changing about five months ago, said Yuji Kuroiwa, the governor of the prefecture in which Sagamihara is located. “You could say there were warning signs, but it’s difficult to say if this could have been prevented,” he told reporters. 

“This was not an impulsive crime ... He went in the dark of the night, opened one door at a time, and stabbed sleeping people one by one. I just can’t believe the cruelty of this crime. We need to prevent this from ever happening again.” 

A Twitter account that Japanese media said belonged to Uematsu included a tweet posted at 2.50am, moments after the attack ended. It said: “Wishing for a peaceful world. Beautiful Japan!” . . .  

According to local media reports, Uematsu tied up at least one member of staff with plastic handcuffs before attacking the residents, who live with a wide range of disabilities. 

The Tsukui Yamayuri En facility is situated in three hectares (7.6 acres) of grounds. Established by the local government and located on the banks of the Sagami river, it has a swimming pool, gym and medical clinic. The facility is home to 150 residents aged between 19 and 75; about 40 are over 60. 

In the afternoon, hearses arrived at the care home to remove some of the bodies, but most were still inside the building as darkness fell and police re-directed residents driving home from work.

The Euthanasia Coaster

Lithuanian artist Julijonas Urbonas is a freak.

He appears to be a somewhat respected freak, at least in his particular European artistic niche. He is currently Vice-Rector for Art at the Vilnius Academy of Arts. And in the last few years he has received grants and awards from the Research Council of Lithuania, the Lithuanian Ministry of Culture and a "Public Prize, New Technological Art Award" from the Foundation Liedts-Meesen in Gent, Belgium.

The above is part of the biographical information on his website, which is actually quite slick.

In 2010 he designed The Euthanasia Coaster.

From his site:

Euthanasia Coaster (2010) is a hypothetic death machine in the form of a roller coaster, engineered to humanely – with elegance and euphoria – take the life of a human being. 

Riding the coaster’s track, the rider is subjected to a series of intensive motion elements that induce various unique experiences: from euphoria to thrill, and from tunnel vision to loss of consciousness, and, eventually, death. Thanks to the marriage of the advanced cross-disciplinary research in aeronautics/space medicine, mechanical engineering, material technologies and, of course, gravity, the fatal journey is made pleasing, elegant and meaningful. Celebrating the limits of the human body, this ‘kinetic sculpture’ is in fact the ultimate roller coaster: John Allen, former president of the famed Philadelphia Toboggan Company, once said that “the ultimate roller coaster is built when you send out twenty-four people and they all come back dead. This could be done, you know.” 

“Euthanasia Coaster” is nothing but a falling trajectory, curved and tangled in such a way that would leave nobody apathetic, neither the passenger,nor the spectator. Where it lands to it is up to the public to decide. It is a prop for non-existent horror movie, a real fiction, a black humour scenography, social sci-fi design, the world’s most extreme ride, a mourning sculpture, a monument for the end of the carousel evolution, a gravitational weapon, the very last trip… 

Since its presentation to the public, the project has become a unique media phenomenon. It has drawn enormous attention from the public and received extremely extensive coverage from international media. The content and form of the feedback ranged from special TV shows, dedicated songs, a film script, a series of virtual replications, a project for school science fair, and a tattoo to knee-jerk online comments and thorough expert discussions. The project was awarded the Public Prize of New Technological Art of Update 2013, Ghent, Belgium.

He doesn't mention that the New York Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) exhibited the design last year.

So, is this performance art? Black humor? Is he serious?

Well, as he sort of states in the blurb, he's as serious as you want to him to be. One has to understand that for his form of "artistic expression," seriousness itself is an elastic concept. Everything is serious and nothing is. The important thing is wearing the proper smirk, preferably while holding a glass of chablis at the gallery.

If anyone wonders why Europe is now so spiritually and morally defenseless in the face of a barbarian invasion and looming civil war, one need only review the case of Julijonas Urbonas.

Not content with designing rollercoasters for the living, a Lithuanian designer has created plans for a 'death rollercoaster' that would provide a 'euphoric' way for people to kill themselves. 

Lithuanian artist Julijonas Urbonas says the killing machine will end people's lives with 'euphoria and pleasure'. 

But a top brain expert has said the mechanism is more likely to leave people feeling sick. 

The rollercoaster, which was designed while Urbonas was a PhD candidate at the Royal College of Art, uses 'extreme g-force' to kill people as they hurtle down 500 metres to reach a speed of 100 metres per second (g-force 10) on seven loop-de-loops. 

'Your blood is rushed to your lower extremities so there is a lack of blood in your brain, so your brain starts to suffocate. When your brain starts to suffocate, people become euphoric.

'Usually pilots experience such extreme forces for just a few seconds, but riders in the rollercoaster experience it for one minute and nobody has experienced this for such a long time,' he said when presenting the design. 

'Unfortunately, the likelihood of any pleasure and euphoria being produced is low; nausea and discomfort would be more probable,' Dr Damasio wrote on the Design and Violence blog message board run by New York's Museum of Modern Art which exhibited the design last summer. 

The Lithuanian designer said his death machine could help 'control populations' and let people leave the world with a thrill. 

Urbonas, who says he has been in roller coaster development since childhood, insists the project is more of an artistic expression and it's peoples' reactions to the rollercoaster that he finds most interesting. 

'Some of them say that the death coaster changed the way they experience amusement rides, others claim they would never ride coasters again,' he wrote in response to Dr Damasio's critique. 

Defending his design, he also said the machine could counter 'boring' methods of euthanasia used in countries where the practice is legal. 

'It [euthanasia] is executed in an extremely boring fashion, proposing 'humane' voluntary death could be more meaningful, personal, ritualistic,' he wrote, while pointing out that he is not advocating for assisted suicide.

He adds that although the euphoric feeling that comes from 'GLOK or G-force induced Loss Of Consciousness' would also be accompanied by nausea and discomfort, it would not last long. 

'The talk on pleasure could also extend to exhilarating sensations that lure millions coaster fans. In addition to these physiological pleasures, I want to stress, the death coaster hints at the possibility for a specific kind of semantic pleasure: an alternative ritualized death appealing to both the individual and the mourning public,' he writes. 

'Of course, it is not for everybody, very much like thrill rides and horror movies.' 

But before you panic don't worry - the contraption hasn't been built (except for a scale model).

In Belgium and the Netherlands they're turning their empty churches into skateboard parks. And doctors earn royalties by recommending the murder of their patients.

While an evil cult grows in numbers and strength.

And in a cynical and tired world, the 266th pope just spoke out for the rights of micro-organisms.
