Man Screams "Allahu Akbar!" at Croatian Easter Vigil Mass in Munich - 24 Injured in Panic

A "dark-skinned" man or "person of African descent" screamed "Allah Akbar" at a Croatian Easter Vigil Mass at St. Paul's Church in Munich on Saturday evening. He attempted to make his way to the altar before being apprehended. At least twenty-four people were lightly injured in the ensuing confusion and panic.

St. Paul's Church is one of the larger churches in the city.

One German source claims the man hurled firecrackers:

Strongly drunken man, dark-skinned and with a beard, enters St. Paul's Church in Munich at the Theresienwiese during the Croatian Mass (Easter blessing), with a bottle of alcohol in his hand, lights a firecracker and throws it into the middle of the church and shouts "Allahu Akbar", everyone panics and throws the baskets where the Easter meal was in, runs out and screams. Children and adults were injured. The police and their squad came and arrested the man. They are shocking pictures that must be spread and not hidden. There were some injured. Many children in a state of shock. Merkur Online reports that 24 people were injured (from PolitikStube, translated by Allah's Willing Executioners, h/t Jihad Watch). 

However a Croatia news outlet reports that the man merely threw "stones". The Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs also claimed that the man was mentally-ill.

ZAGREB, April 21, 2019 - The person of African descent who disrupted Mass in St Peter's Church in the Croatian Catholic parish in Munich on Saturday evening by shouting "Allahu Akbar" and throwing stones, is mentally ill and not connected with terrorism, the Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs said on Sunday. 

The man was shouting and throwing stones at the congregation and around the church, and the people fled in panic. Twenty-five Croatian nationals were slightly injured in the confusion, the ministry told Hina, adding that police said that the man did not use firecrackers as some media reported. 

Croatian media at home and abroad said that it was a middle-aged man who was shouting "Allahu Akbar", which led many of the believers to think that it was a terrorist attack. 

Fenix magazine, the Croatian-language news website based in Frankfurt, said that several people had managed to overpower the man and stop him on his way to the altar before the police came in force. 

The Croatian ministry quoted the Munich police as saying that the incident had nothing to do with terrorism and that it was caused by a mentally ill person, who has been hospitalised after being arrested. 

Police stepped up security around the churches where Mass was celebrated in Croatian, notably around St Michael's Church.

In an upcoming book, Hillary Clinton claims that in their final 2016 debate, Donald Trump invaded her personal space:

Do you stay calm, keep smiling and carry on as if he weren’t repeatedly invading your space? Or do you turn, look him in the eye, and say loudly and clearly ‘Back up you creep. Get away from me. I know you love to intimidate women, but you can’t intimidate me so back up.’ I chose option A. I kept my cool, aided by a lifetime of dealing with difficult men trying to throw me off.

The claim is, of course, ludicrous. Watch the video.

Commentators are already noting the irony of Mrs. Clinton's complaint, given that she's been married to a serial space invader, as it were, for 40+ years (see the cases of Juanita Broderick, Kathleen Willey, Paula Jones and others we will probably never know about).

In fairness, Trump's words in that debate were strong and aggressive, often personally so, though anyone following the primaries would know that this was Trump's M.O. in every primary debate, where his targets were other men.

Not including Marco, of course.

It's rich that a "feminist" like Clinton would imply that things should be different because she's a woman.

During the early primary race, I thought Trump's debate style was obnoxious and off-putting. Later, I came to think it was righteous and effective, or at least it was so in that debate with Clinton. I suspect his lively performance that night was one of the reasons why he won.

And now Hillary is whining that it was unfair.

But back to personal spaces. The most memorable personal space intrusion in modern debate history (indeed, it's the only one that I know of) was Al Gore striding up to George Bush in their final 2000 debate in St. Louis. I have no idea whether it was planned or even really intentional. But in any case, it backfired, with Bush feigning a funny surprised greeting at Gore's sudden looming appearance, eliciting a laugh out of the audience and an awkward grimace from Gore.

By now, everyone knows about last night's epic gaffe at the Academy Awards. The most political Oscars ever - where hardly a moment went by without an anti-Trump joke, hymn to the "marginalized" or hushed reading from the Holy Koran - couldn't even get the most basic and important thing right - giving out the award for Best Picture.

After opening the envelope, Warren Beatty visibly hesitated over reading the card. In fact Beatty had been given the wrong envelope - a second and unopened version of the Best Actress Award winner. He knew something was up, but his presenting partner Faye Dunaway, who had tussled with Beatty before the performance on who would get to read the winner, practically grabbed the card out of his hand and blurted out La La Land. It took two minutes before the actual winner, Moonlight, was identified, and by that time three representatives of La La Land had made their "acceptance" speeches.

The flub was symbolic of how far the Oscars have sunk over the last few years. Very few people actually saw the Awards, and even fewer had seen more than one of the nominated films. This year's Best Picture was an independent film made over only a few days, about growing up black and gay. But even the notable social angle - Moonlight was the first "LBGTQ themed" film to win Best Picture - was overshadowed by the envelope gaffe and the incessant political virtue signaling of the previous hours.

Actually, last night wasn't the first envelope gaffe. But you have to go back pretty far to find another one. In 1964, Sammy Davis Jr. was handed the wrong envelope for the Best Musical Score Adaption. He read the card, and there was brief applause, but as the "winner" hadn't been one of the nominees for the award in question, it was quickly obvious that there had been a mistake. Davis saved the day with a quip - "Wait till the NAACP hears about this!"

"I ain't gonna make no mistake this time, baby," he said, putting on his reading glasses as a new envelope was handed to him.

It was a more innocent time.

She murdered her daughter for "honor"

This happened four-years ago in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir.

While this case is obviously extreme, honor killings and acid attacks against women by family members are fairly common in Pakistan, with thousands of them occurring each year.

One assumes these crimes are usually carried out by men. What makes this particular one even more horrific (if that's even possible) is that in this case, the mother seems to have been an equally guilty party. Indeed, she appears to have been the instigator.

Why so many families in Pakistan - many of them quite poor - have powerful acid stored in their homes is an interesting side question. 

There is so much horror in this news report - that terrible spot on the floor marking the location of the attack, the fact that the parents didn't even attempt to take their daughter to the hospital but rather hid her away as she suffered in agony, the grieving children, most of whom had no idea why their parents and sister were being taken away - the parents to prison, the sister to a hospital where she would later die.

And then of course, there's the almost calm expression on the mother's face as she matter-of-factly describes what happened and shows-off the splash burns on her arm:

Her mother Zaheen described the aftermath: "She (her daughter) said 'I didn't do it on purpose. I won't look again.' By then I had already thrown the acid. It was her destiny to die this way."

This young woman was murdered by her own parents for looking at a boy.

But I guarantee that those carrying the pro-Islam placards and signs at the recent Women's March do not "remember her name."

When a New President Began His Christmas Address by Quoting G.K. Chesterton

Yes, it was Ronald Reagan in 1981:

G.K. Chesterton once said that the world would never starve for wonders, but only for the want of wonder.

The actual line, which Reagan or his speechwriters slightly changed, is from Chesterton's Tremendous Trifles (1909):

The world will never starve for want of wonders; but only for want of wonder.

Reagan continued a few sentences later:

Yes, we've questioned why He who could perform miracles, chose to come among us as a helpless babe. But maybe that was His first miracle, His first great lesson, that we should learn to care for one another.

Intentionally or not, this echoes another theme from Chesterton, one that he most memorably articulated in his classic The Everlasting Man (1925). Chesterton writes of the Nativity, with the infant Jesus perhaps gesturing towards one of the animals:

. . . the hands that had made the sun and stars were too small to reach the huge heads of the cattle. Upon this paradox, we might almost say upon this jest, all the literature of our faith is founded . . . [T]his is exactly why there really is a difference between being brought up as a Christian and being brought up as a Jew or a Moslem or an atheist. . . . for [the Christian] there will always be some savor of religion about the mere picture of a mother and a baby; some hint of mercy and softening about the mere mention of the dreadful name of God. [But] it is no more inevitable to connect God with an infant than to connect gravitation with a kitten. It has been created in our minds by Christmas because we are Christians; because we are psychological Christians even when we are not theological ones. In other words, this combination of ideas has emphatically, in the much disputed phrase, altered human nature.

For Chesterton, the point wasn't that this illustrated the virtue of caring for each other per se, since all religions do that, at least in one form or another, but that an all-powerful God would not only suffer and die for us as a man but would also be born for us - literally and physically born as all men are born.

This is one of the things that makes Christianity unique, though it is at the same time difficult for many Christians to see. Christmas has made the idea seem so normal.

Muslims, for example, view the idea as a blasphemy - a grotesque insult to God's omnipotence and divinity - and I suspect that many religious Jews may feel similarly, though perhaps without the same degree of vehemence.  

But I, as if suffering from a case of bad Chestertonitis, digress.

I think Reagan's speech was very good. You can grinch about the, as it were, ecumenism of it. But it was the address of an American president not of, say, a Roman pope. Like it or not, Reagan wasn't elected to defend Christian theology. But in this case I think a basic Christian spirit shines through. And he did begin by quoting Chesterton . . .

Indeed, we might contrast the obvious joy and goodwill of the speech and the man with the joyless hectoring of our current Pope, for whom Christmas is merely an opportunity to get in another Marxist nag at "materialism" or whatever.

Or we might contrast it with the recent Christmas address of the Obamas - two grinning ghouls making bad jokes and bragging about their political "accomplishments."

Reagan was often criticized for being too "feel good." I admit I used to sort of agree with that. All Reagan said, three years later was "it's morning in America" and, voila, landslide! or so it may have seemed.

But as my daughter might say, oh man. After three years of Bergoglio and eight years of Barack, I could use a little morning.

When a new president told us it was okay to feel good about our Christian faith and to feel good about America . . .

Chilling Video of Suicide Bomber Calmly Walking Into Cairo Church

The bomber walks from the bottom right of the screen, fairly rapidly but calmly. It looks as if the man under the tree at lower left may have tried to say something or challenge him but the bomber keeps walking into the small courtyard of the Church. For a few seconds there is calm and then a tremendous explosion blows out the windows and part of the roof.

According to the Egyptian authorities, the bomber was killed in the explosion. If true, the black-clad man seen running out of the church a few seconds later is obviously not the bomber.

Horrifying footage showing the moment an ISIS suicide bomber killed 25 Christians at a Cairo church has been released by the Egyptian government.

Abu Abdallah al-Masri detonated a 12kg bomb targeting Cairo's main Coptic Christian community, killing six children and 19 adults who were mostly women.
A further 49 were wounded in the savage attack on Sunday. 

Now, the Egyptian government has released footage showing the bombing which appears to capture the 22-year-old terrorist in the act.

The video is a recording of CCTV footage from outside a chapel adjacent to St. Mark's Cathedral, seat of Egypt's ancient Coptic Orthodox Church.

It shows a dark figure crossing the street and walking through the gates of the church. 

Moments later, the blast sends clouds of dust and debris through the windows. 

It was among the deadliest attacks in recent memory to target Egypt's Coptic minority, which makes up around 10 percent of the population and was largely supportive of the military overthrow of a freely elected Islamist president in 2013. 

El-Sissi led the ouster of President Mohammed Morsi, a senior figure in the now outlawed Muslim Brotherhood group. 

Since then, Islamic militants have carried out scores of attacks, mainly targeting the security forces, while the government has waged a wide-scale crackdown on dissent. 

Small protests were held outside the church in the aftermath of the attack, as Christians accused the government of failing to protect them, a complaint that goes back many years. 

Officials and government supporters have touted the quick identification of the suspected bomber as proof of the efficiency of the security bodies, but Christian activist Nader Shokry said more could have been done to prevent the attack. 

'How did all this planning take place without the security knowing about it?' he said. 'You are saying that this person belongs to a terror group and has been previously arrested... So you should have kept a close eye on him.' 

The Interior Ministry said late Monday that the attacker belonged to a terror cell founded by an Egyptian doctor and funded by Muslim Brotherhood leaders living in exile in Qatar. It said the cell was tasked with staging attacks that would stir sectarian strife. 

But Islamic state has claimed responsibility for the bombing in a statement released on Tuesday. 

Three men and a woman were arrested in connection with Sunday's attack and other suspects were on the run, el-Sissi said. 

The Brotherhood condemned the bombing.

Bizarre Journalist Meltdown: Trump Literally Makes Major Garrett Cry

Yesterday, the Donald Trump campaign invited the media to what was billed as a "news conference" where he would make a "major announcement" on the birther issue. Naturally, hundreds of journalists took him up on the offer and a number of networks gave the event live coverage.

The event began with military veterans praising Trump and, as the live cameras kept rolling, the event just . . . kept going with military veterans praising Trump. After 30 minutes of military veterans praising Trump, the candidate quickly stated that Obama was born in the United States, blamed Hillary for starting the birther controversy and congratulated himself for "finishing it." The birther component took all of 30 seconds, after which Trump stepped down and ignored questions from an obviously frustrated and increasingly riotous rush of journalists. 

He then invited pool reporters on a tour of his new hotel.

In response, Major Garrett of CBS had a meltdown on live TV:

Many others, if not as angry as Garrett, were still clearly miffed. Breitbart reported on the reaction from CNN and BET:

“I really don’t quite know what to make of that except for that we got played again by the Trump campaign which is what they do,” said John King afterward, pointing out that Trump tricked them into covering a live event. 

“We just got played. We just got played,” he repeated. 

Marc Lamont Hill a host of BET News, called Trump’s stunt “repugnant.” 

“Donald Trump has never give a speech this short before on any issue!” he said. 

“He talks for hours sometimes when it’s supposed to be five minutes.”

Many headlines claimed that Trump had tricked the media into filming an "infomercial" for his new hotel. As CNN's Jake Tapper suggested, they were "Rick-rolled."

I think the intention was political rather than commercial.

But Rick-rolled gets it precisely right.

Muslim Youths Swarm Two Unarmed Cops in East London - "You take one more step and I'm going to spray you!" (VIDEO)

The East London borough of Tower Hamlets is officially listed as being 30% Muslim, which means it's probably closer to 40% or 50%.

Here, two unarmed police are confronted by a much larger group of Muslim youths in an incident from a few days ago. The police, both big men, appear to be no slouches at fighting but are severely outnumbered. One threatens to use pepper spray. In the end, only the arrival of more police in two more cars turns the tide.

The scene is filmed by someone from a close-by balcony. Note the exclamations of "Allah! Allah! Allah!" from either the person recording the scene or a woman in the background. Is she praying for the police, the youths or just that the confrontation will not escalate?
