The Leading Dutch Political Party Features Trump in Campaign Ad

In the Netherlands, The Party for Freedom (PVV), led by Geert Wilders, is currently well-ahead in the polls for the general election to be held on March 15. PVV is currently polling at 32%, with the next closest party, the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD) at 23%.

The populist, anti-Islam Wilders is an unabashed fan of Donald Trump. His latest campaign ad uses both the Brexit vote and Trump's election win as inspiration:
The Brits have done it!
The Americans have done it!
And we, we, will do it as well!
You can watch the ad at Vlad Tepes. One of its contributors did the subtitling.

I found the ad inspiring. It made me want to be Dutch and live in a house along a frozen canal.

Preferably after Wilders is Prime Minister.

Unfortunately, I may have to wait longer than five weeks. Though the PVV is ahead, it won't get an absolute majority. Most likely, a coalition government will be formed without Wilders.

It might be surprising to some that the PVV isn't farther ahead. Polls suggest that large majorities or pluralities in most Western European country support a ban on immigration from Muslim countries, and the PVV is the only major party in the Netherlands that features this in their platform.

Whatever happens, it looks like the PVV will far exceed its performance in the 2012 election, where it came in third with only 10% of the vote. And the party will do it in part by appealing to the example set by candidate Trump.

That's a beautiful thing.

  1. Fun Fact: Did you know the great saint of the Counter-Reformation, Peter Canesius, is Dutch?
It is he who gave us the latter part of the Hail Mary, "holy Mary mother of God...".

May the SSPX, who already have a presence in Holland, be "regularized" and bring the Dutch people back to Christ and fill those empty churches!

St Peter Canesius, pray for Geert, Holland, and the Dutch people!

  2. Those people may not realize it, but they are voting for their own existence. I just saw a video from Sweden, which has seen such a huge increase in rapes, and is now a climate where women are afraid to go out. Many of the people in the video were asked if there was any connection between Islam and the rapes. Absolutely NOT, they said. You could not get one person to admit a possible connection, so determined were they not to commit the unpardonable sin, that of criticizing any group for any reason (other than xenophobia of course).
Fear of Being Politically Correct (FBPC) is a religion for zealots, and these people will not depart from it even when faced with savagery, massive rapes of women, girls and boys, violence, and the elimination of their way of life and culture. I see not much difference between such liberal zealots and North Koreans, they seem completely driven by fear. We all have fears, but our fears are diametrically opposed, they fear someone criticizing them publicly for the sin of being judgmental, not accepting even the horrible behaviors of another, we rightly fear the amoral and brutal regime that is Islam, and the eventual takeover of every culture by either violence or breeding.

    1. And then there's the Swedish lawyer -- the prosecutor in the case, no less! -- who said that they shouldn't deport the defendant, a Somali accused of rape, because he would present a danger to the women back IN HIS HOME COUNTRY. Swedish women, in contrast, evidently deserve to be raped, just as the Muslims claim. The West has gone insane, and is acting on its mass suicide wish.

It took many years here in the United States for immigration to finally become the deciding issue in an election. I can remember people 10 and 15 years ago bringing up concerns over immigration at the town hall meetings held every time our Congressman came to town. Nothing ever got done.

Then, finally, in the election of 2016, people made themselves heard. It just took a while. Unfortunately for Europe, their societies are have much bigger Muslim populations, percentage-wise, than ours does, so they are further down the road to annihilation -- and to make matters worse, seem to be moving even more slowly politically than we have done. Will they take action in time to save themselves? I don't know. Oriana Fallaci was pretty grim about the prospects....
