Muslim Bomb and Stabbing Attack in Siberian City Leaves 8 Injured, 2 Critically

Only 24 hours after the Muslim stabbing attack in Turku, Finland, there was another Muslim stabbing incident in a far-north European city.

In Surgut, Russia, a man detonated a molotov-cocktail-like device in a shopping mall and then went on a stabbing spree before being shot dead by police. Eight people were injured, including two who are "fighting for their lives."

The attacker is believed to be a Muslim from the Russian republic of Dagestan. ISIS allegedly took credit for the attack, though Russian authorities are skeptical of the link.

Surgut is a city of approximately 350,000 located in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug of Siberia. Ironically, the administrative area is roughly the size of Finland and its latitude of 61 degrees North is almost precisely that of Turku.

Russia has a Muslim population of at least 12%, many of them concentrated in a few republics in the Caucasus. Mahound's Paradise has no idea what the figure is for the proportion of Muslims in Surgut or west-central Siberia.

A new video of the Russian teenage knifeman, appearing to plant and ignite an explosive device in a shopping mall before going on a stabbing spree, has emerged today.

The footage showing an explosion in Surgut shopping mall will raise fears that the incident was a terrorist attack, as the Islamic State has claimed.

The man, believed to be 19-year-old Artur Gadzhiev is shown clearly from a CCTV camera. He is also accused of stabbing at least eight people in city streets.

An explosion is seen on the footage, matching witness statements about the incident.

Russian officials on Saturday gave minimal details about the attack in the Siberian oil city, and initially played down a terrorism incident.

The attacker, named locally as Gadzhiev, was shot dead by police in a busy main street in Surgut, central Russia, at about 11.20am local time.

He is believed to be from Dagestan, a strongly Muslim region of Russia in the Caucasus.

Gadzhiev's father Lametulakh was reported to be registered with Russian police as an 'extremist' and 'supporter' of radical Islam.

Shocking CCTV shows people fleeing for their lives as the attacker rampaged outside shops in the city.

Footage shows him running by a pavilion and throwing something away before he was shot dead.

At least two people are fighting for their lives, while another five were hospitalised in the stabbing spree, authorities said.

However witnesses claimed that the number of victims could be much higher.

The attacker was originally named as Bobichel Abdurakhmanov but his 'real name' was later reported by Mash, a media seen as close to law enforcement sources, and quickly reported by mainstream Russian news sources, including state media.

There was no immediate separate confirmation from the authorities. Gadzhiev was from Khasavyurt town, and it was unclear why he was in Surgut.

He was reported to be a supporter of Zenit St Petersburg and Manchester United football clubs.

His behaviour was sometimes described as 'strange' but he was not registered as a person with 'mental problems', according to unidentified locals.

Earlier the Russian Investigative Committee said it was looking into 'his possible psychiatric disorders'.

But local news agency, Surgut Inter Novosti, suggested the violent attack was larger than the authorities had initially revealed.

'According to witnesses, unknown people threw a Molotov cocktail bottle inside 'Severny' shop, then they attacked a woman with an axe near a cash machine.

'More than 10 people with injuries have been taken into emergency care.'

But there was no immediate official confirmation of this claim.

The knifeman 'carried out attacks on passers-by, causing stab wounds to eight,' Russia's Investigative Committee, which probes major crimes said.

The spokesman added that armed police 'liquidated' the attacker.

Nobody was killed in the assault but victims needed immediate medical treatment, said officers.

At least two of the victims were fighting for their lives while five more were in a stable condition, the government of the Khanty-Mansi region said in a statement.

There were reports that more than one attacker was involved and that the number of victims was higher than officials have disclosed, but these claims have not been verified.

The attacker may have suffered from a psychiatric disorder, the interior ministry said.

'The version that the attack was a terrorist one is not the main one,' the interior ministry added.

'In the interests of public calm and also of the investigation, citizens and media are recommended to use reliable information in assessing the situation until all the circumstances are established.'

Surgut is the largest city of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area region with a population of around 350,000.

It is a major centre for oil and gas production in the country.

Police shot a man in the leg before arresting him, according to reports. 

The attack is said to have occurred in the city of Turku, in the southwest of the country. 

The Turun Sanomat newspaper said that at least one person was killed in the attack. 

At least two people have been reported to be hurt in the Market Square. 

According to local media site Uutiset, police tweeted: 'Several people stabbed in central Turku. People are requested to avoid the city centre.' 

Moments later a suspect was shot in the leg and arrested. 

Officials have warned people to stay away from the area. 

Police have said they are upping security at Helsinki airport and train station in response to the incident.

I am assuming the young woman - a British tourist - was a pilgrim, as she appears to have been heading to a Good Friday commemoration in the Old City.

The Palestinian Authority had just raised the stipend for families of Palestinian terrorists.

A 23-year-old British student was killed after being stabbed multiple times in the chest in a terror attack at IDF Square on Jerusalem’s light rail on Friday afternoon.

The terrorist was arrested after a number of police officers managed to gain control over him. He was later identified as 57-year-old Jamil Tamimi from the Palestinian neighborhood of Ras al-Amud.

Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics arrived at the scene to find the woman lying on the ground unconscious after having suffered multiple stab wounds.

The Shin Bet later reported that the terrorist attempted to commit suicide this year by swallowing a razor blade while in hospital. In 2011, he was convicted of sexually assaulting his daughter.

“This is another incident of many in which a Palestinian suffering from mental health or personal issues has chosen to carry out an attack as a way out of his problems,” the Shin Bet statement said.

A mentally ill and probably disgraced member of the "peaceful" Tamimi family wants to kill himself. What better way to rehabilitate his image and get likely killed than to murder an innocent woman in a public place?

This story is not only about a mentally ill murderer. It is yet another indictment of a Palestinian society that glorifies terrorists and turns their shame into honor.

The murder is already being called heroic by Palestine Today.

The official Wafa news agency is not yet sure whether the person arrested is the stabber, saying that a Palestinian was arrested on the pretext of being involved in a terror attack.

His name was was Akram Joudeh, and he was a resident of Queens, although he is reportedly originally from Jordan.

He has fifteen previous arrests, including one for carrying knives near a synagogue.

Apparently, he had been living in his car.

Joudeh became upset when he saw that the car had been booted, and so tried to pry it off. When confronted by police, he did what any self-respecting Islamist would do in such a situation - take out a meat cleaver, wave it menacingly and then start running down a crowded street.

Slay the unbelievers wherever you find them.

Even if you're homeless.

A policeman was apparently slashed in the face when attempting to subdue him, and two other officers suffered minor injuries. Joudeh was also shot multiple times. I counted at least twelve shots in the video (there were actually eighteen). "Holy Sh**!" exclaims someone off camera, "Wow!"
  
The policeman will be okay, though he now has a six-inch gash on his jaw.

Amazingly, Joudeh himself is said to be in critical but stable condition, even after so many shots. One photograph showed him being cuffed while lying in a large pool of what I assume was his own blood.

A man has been shot dead by French security forces after attacking a nurse and stabbing a police officer on the outskirts of Paris. 

The medic had been called to his home in the eastern suburb of Vincennes when the attack started on Friday morning, Le Parisen reported. 

When police arrived at the scene, the 29-year-old suspect stabbed one of the officers in the neck before being shot dead by his colleagues. 

The injured police officer was taken to hospital and was believed to be in a stable condition. 

Authorities have given no further details on the attack or a possible motive but told local newspapers the assailant had recently left a psychiatric hospital.

That's redundant. With so many mentally ill at large, all of Western Europe is a psychiatric hospital.

The incident occurred Sunday evening in Oberhausen, a city in the Western part of Germany near Essen and Dusseldorf. The photograph above shows the city's central canal promenade.  

The attack and the response to it follows the now well-known pattern:

1. Sudden random attack
2. "Allahu Akbar!"
3. Suspect described as mentally ill
4. Motivation unknown but police are investigating

Let us remember, however, that while the pattern is not new, this attack, like every one before it, involves real people. A husband and wife were peacefully enjoying music at a picnic. A few minutes and a few "Allahu Akbar"s later, they were both presumably covered in blood. The wife may die.

A MAN screamed “Allahu Akbar” as he attacked a couple with their own picnic knife at a German music festival. 

A 66-year-old woman, believed to be the other victim’s wife, is fighting for her life. 

Her 57-year-old husband was seriously injured but managed to overpower the attacker who was then arrested by police officers in Oberhausen. 

The attack took place just after 7pm on Saturday evening near Stadion Niederrhein, 

Police officers say the suspect is a 26-year-old from Duisburg, Germany. 

Local media said the man went on a “rampage” at the canal side music event. 

He harassed several daytrippers before snatching a knife from the floor where the victims were enjoying a riverbank picnic. 

He was tackled by the injured man as well as a cop and fireman. 

Police said the man arrested was homeless and on drugs, but have not rules out a “political motivation”. 

Cops secured the weapon and the attacker is due to face a judge later today. 

Several revellers at the riverside event were treated for shock. 

The attacker was also taken to hospital for minor injuries before being transported to jail.

It happened at 11:35 in the evening, local time, at Shelley's Backpackers, a hostel on the North-East coast of Australia.

This isn't Western Europe. You'd think you'd be safe from this sort of thing there.

The suspect has been described as a "Frenchman," which presumably means he had a French passport.

The victims were British.

A woman is dead and a man is fighting for his life.

The suspect was caught on camera screaming "Allahu Akbar!"

A French man screaming ‘Allahu Akbar’ went on a stabbing rampage at a backpackers hostel in north Queensland, killing a 21-year-old British woman and leaving a British man, 31, fighting for his life in hospital. 

A third man, an Australian, received non-life threatening wounds and was released from hospital soon after the attack on Tuesday night, police said. 

The attacker, 29, also stabbed a dog to death during the frenzy that was witnessed by a roomful of more than 30 people at Shelley's Backpackers. 

Queensland state Deputy Police Commissioner Steve Golleschewski told a news conference on Wednesday that the attacker screamed the Islamic praise for God during the his frenzy. 

'It is alleged that the suspect used the phrase "Allahu Akbar" during the attack and when arrested by police,' Deputy Commissioner Gollschewski said. 

'Whilst this information will be factored into the information we are not ruling out any motivations at this early stage, whether they be political or criminal.' 

The French man, who has been in the country a temporary visa since March, was also caught on police body camera shouting 'Allahu Akbar' as he was being taken into custody. 

The alleged attack was being assessed for mental health issues and drug use. 

He was taken to Townsville Hospital and is being questioned by police after more than 30 people witnessed the knife attack. No charges have been laid yet. 

Australian Federal Police, who have a responsibility for investigating terror attacks, are also involved in the homicide investigation. 

'At this stage, there is no indications to indicate other than that the fact he was acting alone,' AFP Commander Sharon Cowden said. 

'Albeit it is a shocking incident and the community should remain vigilant. 

'He was in lawfully in Australia and at this stage he was not known to authorities.' 

Police say the man did not appear to have any ties to Islamic State. 

Both the Deputy Commissioner and the Commander expressed their condolences to the families affected by the attack. 

A third person, a 46-year-old local man, was taken to hospital with a stab wound to the leg but has since been released. 

Superintendent Ray Rohweder said police were confronted by a 'terrible scene' when they arrived at the hostel. 

'But both officers ... acted tremendously and ensured the safety of other persons at the venue,' he said. 

Supt Rohweder said the officers asked the alleged attacker, who had sustained injuries to his arms, to lay on the ground before taking him into custody. 

Investigators have the knife believed to have been used in the attack. 

Officers have been in contact with British consular staff. 

The French national is expected to be charged over the attack.

Responders tend to a victim (or is it the suspect?)

Here is what we know so far:

Earlier today (afternoon in Belgium) a woman randomly stabbed three people. The location has been variously reported as occurring 'in a mall,'  'in a McDonald's,' 'at a bus stop' or 'on a bus' on the outskirts of Brussels.

Most reports claim she was wielding a machete. Some have called it a knife.

Two of the victims are in serious condition.

The woman was shot in the arm by police after refusing to drop her weapon.

Belgian media have reported that the woman was wearing a Djellaba - a loose fitting full-smock, popular in North Africa.

The police have not officially released the suspect's name (partial or full) or a description, but Belgian media reports that a police source claimed the woman was 'Asian.'

Almost immediately, it was reported that police do not believe the attacks were terrorist related or politically motivated, and that the woman had a 'history of mental illness.'

A Jewish rabbi has been stabbed in Strasbourg, allegedly by a Muslim. 

The attacker, who has been arrested, shouted 'Allahu Akbar' - God is great - as he stabbed the 55-year-old man, Le Journal du Dimanche reported. 

The Hasidic man was 'moderately' injured in the attack outside a brasserie in the north of the city, according to local reports. 

The attacker is believed to have a history of mental health issues. 

A source to the investigation told French station BFMTV that terrorism has been ruled out, however they are unsure of the man's motive. 

Strasbourg is in the north east of France, near the German border, and is a seat of the European Parliament.

No innocents were hurt in the incident, which occurred this afternoon in Spijkenisse, a Dutch town outside of Rotterdam, and the knifer himself was only shot in the leg.

Indeed, for once there was a comic side:

Multiple eye-witnesses heard the shouts of 'Allah Akbar', although some who watched the scenes unfold were not impressed. 

One eye-witness said: 'About every person on the planet is shouting 'Allah Akbar' nowadays.'

The knifer had first dropped his pants in front of a group of girls. Apparently, they weren't impressed by that either.

A police officer was forced to shoot down the man when he came storming towards them with the knife. 

According to a police spokesman, the knife wielding man was still responsive after he was shot in his leg, and was taken to a hospital. 

No other people were injured in the incident. 

It is not yet known why the man, a 35-year-old citizen of Spijkenisse, wielded a knife or shouted 'Allah Akbar'. 

According to the police, the man looked confused. 

The police said a criminal investigation had begun. 

Multiple eye-witnesses heard the shouts of 'Allah Akbar', although some who watched the scenes unfold were not impressed. 

One eye-witness said: 'About every person on the planet is shouting 'Allah Akbar' nowadays.' 

The man heard from a group of girls that the suspect also dropped his pants in front of them before making a scene with the butcher's knife.

U.S. Olympic Muslima Goes Decapitation-Chic

American Olympic fencer Ibtihaj Muhammad (in yellow hijab) participates in a decapitation joke 

It has been widely reported that female fencer Ibtihaj Muhammad is the first American Olympian to compete in a Islamic Hijab.

She has been commended for "slaying misconceptions."

Given the fact that virtually every day in Europe, Israel, Bangladesh or elsewhere, the news brings us a new report of an attempted or successful Muslim stabbing or slashing attack - often a mass stabbing or slashing attack against randomly selected non-Muslims - it is unclear why the fact that the first US Hijab wearer is competing as a swordswoman "slays" or "skewers" or "puts to the sword" (see below) any common perceptions of Muslims.

It seems to me, rather, a coup de grace to reinforce them.

Maybe she's mentally ill.

Miss Muhammad is also being portrayed in the US media as a sort of feminist icon. You go, girl, and all that.

But she is on record as saying that the reason she got into fencing in the first place is because it was one of the only sports where she could compete covered up.

That's the new sharia-feminism for you - applauding someone who thinks that only a few sports are open to women due to modesty requirements.

The fencing champion has her own Muslima clothing line called Louella. It doesn't appear to sell hijabs, which is curious as all the models are wearing them. The post title photo, above - from the Hijab Style and Fashion website - shows Muhammad "horsing around" with a "supporter." They're having a bit of a joke about decapitation.

Even beyond Ibtihaj Muhammad's example, Muslima empowerment through swordsmanship now seems to be a thing. Here's an NBC News article from yesterday, this time about fencing in the UK, titled, How Muslim Girls Fence Helps Girls Put Stereotypes to the Sword. One of the girls, Reheat Rayatt, poses with her foil in, of all places, a convenience store:

Note the school tie. She must be a moderate.

But back to Ibtihaj Muhammad. If anyone reading this believes I'm being unfair to her, I would argue that, on the contrary, I've been pulling my lunges. She at least has a choice whether or not to cover her head. Most Muslim women do not. She isn't fighting for them; she's aiding in their enslavement (and making money off it). Miss Muhammad is a talented athlete, but as a woman or simply a human being, she should be ashamed of herself.

Bizarre Video: "Psycho" Muslima Attempts to Stab Two IDF Soldiers

This happened two days ago at a bus stop near Ariel, Israel.

A woman in a hijab, pink tunic and jeans walks towards two Israeli soldiers with a large knife hidden behind her back. It looks like the soldiers suspect something.

She then reveals the knife and walks slowly towards them with the knife raised. They step back. She keeps walking towards them as if in a horror movie. You can't hear anything from the video, but presumably they are yelling at her to stop or put it down, etc.

Finally, one of them shoots her in the chest, perhaps as she is lunging at them.

The video was taken by a motorist who apparently just happened to be driving by.

Thoughts:

One's first reaction might be, did they really have to shoot her? After all, they are soldiers, perhaps partially armored. She is merely a woman with a knife. And because she is moving so slowly she doesn't look that dangerous. It's like watching one of those horror movies where you imagine you could just casually step away from the slow-moving zombie. But I think they did the right thing, or at least they didn't do the wrong thing. She could have seriously injured one of them. And it's not their job to risk their lives to save hers - she's the one who initiated the attack. Consider also that the video seems to show that at first they were closer to her and tried to get out of her way. If it makes anyone feel better, apparently her gunshot wound was not fatal and she is recovering in the hospital.

Where did she come from? Was she dropped off? Did she climb an embankment? Or was she just casually strolling along a highway with a knife behind her back looking for Jews to stab?

This is just one example - though one of the better recorded - of literally hundreds of Muslim stabbing attempts against Israelis in the last few years. And a number were "successful," resulting in many deaths and injuries. What kind of culture encourages people - not hardened ISIS militants, but presumably "ordinary" citizens with no criminal records - to literally become psycho knife attackers?

Palestinian Terrorist Stabs 13-Year-Old Israeli Girl to Death in Her Bedroom

Her name was Hallel Yaffa Ariel.

The attack occurred Thursday morning in the West Bank settlement of Kiryat Arba. A man responding to her screams was also stabbed and then mistakenly shot by other responders. The assailant--a 17-year-old boy--was killed.

Local officials said the home lies on the edge in the Ramat Mamre neighborhood, adjacent to a fence surrounding the settlement. A picture released by the IDF showed the bedroom with blood smeared on beds and the floor.

According to an initial account, the attacker jumped the fence — a breach that sent an alert to the IDF and civilian security guards in the area — and broke into the girl’s bedroom, where she was sleeping. 

Forces searching for the cause of the breach heard screams coming from the house and raced in to find the girl with multiple stab wounds in her bed, according to Channel 10. One of the guards hurried to her to provide first aid and was jumped by the attacker who managed to stab him. 

The girl’s father and other guards fired shots at the attacker, killing him, and also wounding the responding guard. 

“The girl was unconscious, without a pulse and not breathing. She had a number of penetrating wounds on her upper body. We loaded her onto the ambulance while performing CPR. Her condition was very serious. The second victim we loaded into the ambulance and gave him life-saving first aid. He was fully conscious, speaking with us throughout the ride [to the hospital],” said Magen David Adom medic Devora Aviad.

BREAKING: Teen schoolgirl stabbed in random attack by man ‘making sacrifice for Ramadan’ 

The girl was reportedly stabbed in Rennes, France, by an attacker marking the Islamic month of fasting. 

Prosecutor Nicolas Jacquet confirmed the attack today, in which the 19-year-old victim sustained three stab wounds. 

He said the man, who had known psychiatric problems, claimed he heard voices demanding a sacrifice for Ramadan. 

"Voices told him that he must commit a sacrifice on the occasion of Ramadan," the prosecutor said.

That the entire Muslim population of the West Bank hasn't yet been deported to the An Nafud is a testament to the tolerance of the Israeli government—a tolerance bordering on the saintly. The following is from The Jerusalem Post. A description of the original attack follows:

Park to be dedicated in name of terrorist on site of his destroyed home 

The Municipality of Surda/Abu Kash in the Ramallah area decided on Sunday to name a public park after Muhannad Halabi, who killed two Israelis in Jerusalem’s Old City last October. 

The new park will be built on the site where Halabi’s house existed before it was demolished by the IDF earlier this month. 

Halabi, a 19-year-old Palestinian law student at Al-Quds University from a village near Ramallah, went on a shooting and stabbing spree in October killing two before he was shot dead by police. 

The attack took place at the Lion's Gate on Succot as the victims were en route to the Western Wall. Halabi stabbed a couple and their toddler son and then grabbed a pistol from one of his victims and began firing wildly into the crowd until a border police officer shot him from 50 meters away, killing him. 

The victims of the attack, one of the first in the current wave of terror attacks that have plagued Israel over the last four months, were Rabbi Nehemia Lavie, 41, an Old City resident who worked at the Ateret Cohanim Yeshiva, near the place he was killed, and Aharon Benita from Beitar Illit, the father of the toddler also wounded in the attack.

Meanwhile, Palestinian activists announced on Sunday that they have collected a total of 650,000 Shekels in donations to build a new house for the Halabi family following the launch of a crowdfunding campaign. 

The campaign, used by Palestinians to protest against Israel's house demolition policy, may become a tremendous success since many Palestinians view Halabi as the “hero who ignited the Third Intifada's fire.” 

Many Palestinians were outraged that the Palestinian Authority did not act to stop the house's demolition by closing the roads leading to the structure and preventing the approach of the Israeli forces. 

Following the destruction of their house on January 9, the entire Halabi family gathered around the ruins and took a selfie picture in which all family members are seen smiling and flashing the victory sign. 

The family members’ smiles just after losing their house are consistent with the behavior of many young Palestinians during the current terror wave which has seen Palestinian terrorists tend to smile to the camera, even when they are already arrested or physically injured by Israeli security forces. The phenomenon, known in Arabic as Ibtisamat (smiles) has even become a popular hashtag on Palestinian social media.

Adele Banita gives harrowing account of terror assault in which her husband Aharon and Old City resident Nehemia Lavi were murdered, and she was badly wounded

Adele Banita, one of the victims of Saturday night’s terror attack in Jerusalem Old City, gave a harrowing account of how the deadly stabbing assault unfolded and how her cries for help were ignored as her husband lay fatally wounded on the floor and she herself was stabbed. 

“I yelled ‘please help me!’ and they just spat at me,” said Banita of the surrounding Palestinian shopkeepers whom she said looked on and did nothing as Palestinian terrorist Muhannad Halabi attacked her and her family in an alleyway near Lion’s Gate in the Old City. 

The Banitas’ two-year-old son was also lightly injured in the attack. Their infant girl was unharmed. 

Banita was taken in serious condition to Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem in Jerusalem where she underwent emergency surgery overnight Saturday-Sunday. She regained consciousness on Sunday. Her husband died of his wounds at Shaare Zedek Hospital shortly after the attack. 

“When we got back from the Western Wall, we felt that something wasn’t right,” she told Ynet from her hospital bed Sunday. 

“We started walking fast but the terrorist emerged from one of the stores and lunged at us and started stabbing my husband. My husband is a strong man and started fighting him, he punched him in the face. At that point, the terrorist started stabbing me. Then he went back to my husband and stabbed him again and again. I also fought him, I tried to take away the knife, but I failed,” she recounted.

Banita said Palestinian youths who saw the attack laughed and cursed at her as she yelled for help. 

She said that one of them slapped her and another laughed in her face and told her to “drop dead” when she told him she’d give him a million shekels if he helped her get away with her two babies. 

“They saw that we were with two baby carriages,” she said. 

Banita — stabbed, bleeding and losing consciousness fast — said she used her last ounces of energy to run toward security forces for help. 

“I said ‘I’m hurt, my husband is stabbed and my two babies are there alone,’ then I lost consciousness,” she said. 

Nehemia Lavi, 41, an Old City resident who heard the screams, came to help and he too was stabbed and killed by the terrorist. 

Lavi and Banita were laid to rest Sunday at the Givat Shaul cemetery in Jerusalem. 

In video footage that emerged from the attack, Halabi, a 19-year-old resident of al-Bireh near Ramallah, can briefly be seen lunging at one of his victims — it’s not clear who — and wrestling him to the ground. Adele’s screams can be heard as well as a baby’s wails. The video ends with the sound of gunshots. Throughout, shopkeepers and people can be seen either looking on or running away. 

At the end of the video, one man nonchalantly takes a sip of his soft drink as he looks on. 

The terrorist was shot dead by security forces at the scene.
